Daily routine

The main reason why I started this diary is to establish a skincare routine. As I experiment with different products, my nightly & daily routine will be at a constant flux. However, I have since discovered some of skincare staples.

My current routine looks a little crazy since I’m doubling up on serums and creams. I’ve decided to give the Neulii Teatree BHA Blemish Seruma try (from samples). Because it has a watery consistency and I really like the Innisfree Soybean Serum, I figured I’ll add on instead on instead of replace – especially since I only use a cream and not a lotion.

As of March 21, my current routine consists of:

Type Current Routine  Status
cleanser 1  Innisfree Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam –or- Hada Labo Gokujyun Foaming Wash I’ve been using these cleansers alternatively for the last few months and have been really happy with both of them.
essence 2  Missha Time Revolution  First Treatment Essence (Intensive) I finally bought a full-sized version and what can I say, it works! When this is done, I plan on trying the Innisfree Light version for a real comparison.
first serum 3  Neulii Teatree BHA Blemish Control Serum Experimenting with the samples – as of 3/24
moisturizing toner (Korean skin / Japanese lotion) 4  Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium Lotion I just started using this – so far, so good.
serum 5  Innisfree Soybean Firming Serum  I really like this product!
cream 6  Innisfree Soybean Firming Neck Cream  I really like this as well!
neck cream 7  Garnier Ultra Lift Night Serum + Cream  My neck likes this
sunscreen 8  Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ PA++++  HG
lip balm 9  EOS Lip Balm, Sweet Mint  Nice, but this is way too expensive here ($10). I’m looking for a replacement.

Special care (not for everyday application):

  • Skin Food Black Sesame Hot Mask
  • Innisfree Jeju Volcano Pore Clay Mask
  • Holika Holika Pig-Nose Clear 3-step Kit

I’ve ran out of Hada Labo Gokujyun Lotion, which I have grown to love, although it contains parabens. I’ve decided not to buy more and experiment around it. But it’s not going well … balaozinho42

My current routine as of August 19th. consists of:

  1. Hada Labo Gokujyun Foaming Wash – love
  2. Hada Labo Gokujyun Lotion – I really like this now
  3. Hada Labo Gokujyun Milk – just a drop this time!
  4. Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ PA++++
  5. C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries Mentha Lip Balm Stick No. 1129 (No Shine Formula)

4-0-star-rating Initial reaction: I like it … but I’m forced to wear make-up because my face was so shiny. My hunch was right – the HA milk is more suited for nighttime wear. I waited over 30 minutes before applying anything else to my face and it was still pretty shiny, even with just 2 drops applied. I needed an opaque powder (MAC Studio Fix) in order to hide all the shine. However, my make-up felt light and comfortable on. I think it would be a good base IF I actually wanted to wear make-up, but I don’t, so I’ll reserve the HA milk only at night.

Regardless of how the HA milk worked for me during the day, I’m thinking about just ordering larger versions of it because of how my face looked when I woke-up today.

Note: This is based on the first day of using the products during the day. I started using it the night prior, so this is a follow-up to the post found under Nightly routine’s initial reaction.
