Etude House Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream

purewaterReview: Etude House Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream

4-5-star-rating (4.5/5 stars) This cream saved my skin from redness and peeling due to a severe cold. For the last two weeks, I’ve been coughing, sneezing, and completely miserable. I even had a pretty high fever that landed me a doctor’s appointment – I was diagnosed with a strep throat and possible pneumonia?! In all of my stuffy misery, this super gentle cream visibly helped the skin under my nose from looking red and chapped.

It comes in a small 2.02 fl.oz/60 ml tub that’s made of a thick plastic – the kind that almost looks and feels like glass. The cream itself is lightweight and slightly opaque; it looks more like a gel. It glides on smoothly and leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. What I really love about it is that it dries without that greasy shine, unlike a lot of creams. It’s ultra mild: fragrance free, and it didn’t irritate my already cracked skin around my nose.

The only reason why I didn’t give it a full 5 stars is because it’s so light that I’m not sure if it’ll provide enough protection during the dry winter months (like I’d hoped). I’ve been using it both day and night and I’m really surprised by how well it works during the day – it’s perfect for fall weather! However, I feel like I need to add on to it during the night. But so far, this is a keeper! For my super-sensitive skin, it works better than any of the lotions and creams I’ve tried so far! 23-1

Note: I tumblr_lm6pryCe8x1qfoi4t this because it’s super mild and unlike other creams, my skin doesn’t get irritated even after prolonged use. It’s currently out of stock, but Etude House Global is having a 1-yr anniversary 30% off store wide discount. Code: ANNIVERSARY2015 (valid Oct 1-4).

Haul: Etude House

imageReview: Etude House Global

4-0-star-rating (4/5 stars) This is my long awaited bday gift, but since I know the shipping details, I’ll include it here. It apparently took a long time to ship this order, and the shipping status on their site was never updated. They also didn’t provide any freebies and one of the creams wasn’t closed properly, so it leaked out. However, I’m pretty delighted with everything and I can’t wait to try it all!

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam

inniswashReview: Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam

5-0-star-rating (5/5 stars) Just like the rest of the Jeju Volcano line, this cleansing foam is made to help purify pores and absorb excess sebum. It’s gentle and leaves my face feeling so clean. It has a light consistency, which spreads easily and it feels soft while applying. It’s lightly scented, but it’s subtle and not overpowering. There’s tiny little volcanic particles in it that add texture, however, they disintegrate as soon as you notice them. What I love the most is that it contains natural extracts and the volcanic scoria seems to really agree with my skin.

All in all, I really like this cleanser! In my original post, I mentioned how I couldn’t use it everyday. But since then, I’ve been experimenting with the other products I started using at the same time as this cleanser, and it turns out I’m not sensitive to this after all! I’ve been using it everyday – twice a day – I’ve had absolutely no issues. This may be the perfect cleanser.

Water, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Myristic Acid, PEG-32, Butylene Glycol, Potassium Hydroxide, Lauric Acid, Hydrated Silica, Lauryl Glucoside, Volcanic Ash (Jeju Volcanic Cluster), Green Tea Extract, Tangerine Peel Extract, Prickly Pear Extract, Brassica Campestris (Rapeseed) Flower Extract, Mineral Water (Water from Volcanic Rock in Jeju), Bamboo Extract, Cryptomeria Japonica Leaf Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, Disodium EDTA, Lauramide DEA, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Mannitol, Silica, Corn Starch, Polyquaternium-7, PEG-100 Stearate, Sodium Benzoate, Fragrance

Hada Labo Gokujyun Face Wash

Moisture_cleanserReview: Hada Labo Gokujyun Face Wash

4-0-star-rating (4/5 stars) This is another popular product from Hada Labo’s moisturizing line that contains Super Hyaluronic Acid. After using it, it’s no wonder why so many love it! It’s super mild, fragrance free, and pH balanced perfectly (between 5.0 to 6.5). It’s a dense, white cleanser that has a thick consistency that stays white even when you apply it, so you can really see where it goes. It spreads kind of like a cream. I love that it comes in a tube because it’s easier to control how much you’re using. This would be the perfect cleanser if it didn’t contain parabens (propylparaben and methylparaben92 .

Hado Labo’s Suggested Order: Cleansing Oil > Face Wash > Lotion > Serum > Milk or Cream

Water, Glycerin, Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate, Butylene Glycol, Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-400, Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Lauroyl Aspartate, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, BHT, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, Lauric Acid, Methylparaben, PEG-32, Polyquaternium-7, Polyquaternium-52, Propylparaben, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Stearic Acid

Hada Labo Gokujyun Lotion

okokReview: Hada Labo Gokujyun Lotion

4-0-star-rating (4/5 stars) So far, this is the best moisturizing toner I’ve tried. In fact, this is my favorite from Hada Labo’s moisturizing product line. Gokujyun means “extra moisturizing” and it contains the company’s own Super Hyaluronic Acid (SHA), which has twice the moisture-retention capacity of Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that has been promoted as the “fountain of youth”.

Hado Labo’s Suggested Order: Cleansing Oil > Face Wash > Lotion > Serum > Milk or Cream

This lotion is equivalent to a toner but it’s lightly moisturizing, and not at all astringent. Like most Asian toners, it’s used after cleansing to lightly moisturize and prep your skin for the rest of your skincare routine. If you’re accustomed to Western toners, then the consistency may take some time to get used to – it feels a little slimey, but glides on so well. A little goes a long way! I really like this product because it’s mild, has no fragrance, and works like it claims. Since it is so mild, it’s the perfect base when experimenting with various brands and products.

The reason why I don’t give it a full 5 stars is because it contains methylparaben. Because this is an insanely popular product, where one bottle supposedly sells every 2 seconds in Japan, and backed by a large conglomerate, Rohto Pharmaceutical, I am surprised that the line contains parabens. The fact that the company is able to formulate SHA, should also mean that they’re capable of creating a product free from parabens – knowing this adds to my disappointment. But having said that, it is still the mildest moisturizing toner I’ve used. However, until they reformulate it to be paraben-free, I’m on the search for something better.

Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Disodium Succinate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Hydroxyethycellulose, Methylparaben, PPG-10 Methyl Glucose Ether, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Succinic Acid

Nuigurumax on eBay

imageReview: Nuigurumax (seller name: realare)

5-0-star-rating (5/5 stars) I want to take this opportunity to profess my love for this eBayer! It’s really difficult to get reliable imports into my part of the world, which makes her service and professionalism so much more invaluable! Although I have family that lives in Japan, I much prefer ordering products from her because I know it will arrive fast and securely.

I chanced upon her store while looking for a travel sized Hada Labo Gokujyun set (she was the only one selling it). My order came very quickly (for economy shipping). The item itself was immaculate; wrapped in bubble wrap and sent in a box. It even came with an Origami heart receipt!

imageI have since ordered the larger versions of 3 out of the 4 products the travel set came with (minus the cleansing oil), and everything was as carefully packaged; individually wrapped in bubble wrap and placed neatly inside a brown box with her signature Origami heart receipt. Her prices may not be the cheapest, but shipping is free and her service is phenomenal. She’s based in Fukuoka, Japan and is open for requests – so if you’re looking for a particular Japanese item, send her a message. I can not recommend her enough! tumblr_lm6pryCe8x1qfoi4t

Items were shipped as uninsured parcels via Japan Post Economy Air (SAL).  date.gif processing 1 day mail2 delivery 9 days gif25 order time frame 10 days  balaozinho22

Sheet Masks 50% Off

Colourful hanging sales tags with optional transparent shadowI went to sleep last night knowing that Innisfree was having a 50% off sale on their sheet masks. They’re supposed to be Korea’s No.1 Sheet Mask. I’ve tried a few of their masks before I started this diary and I really like them – they’re mild and moisturizing. So I bought a set for my best friend to try and called it a night. Everything was in stock, so I must have just caught the start of their 3-day sale. I honestly would have given in to the temptation if I hadn’t found a customs and VAT fee calculator and realized I’d pay more in import fees than the price of the order!

Fast forward to this morning. I may or may not have a few more sheet masks to hold me over this winter 37eb693aab639dad71cd8a5e525aec01 But at 60¢ a sheet, I just couldn’t resist! One slightly annoying thing is that I can’t seem to enter a promo code. But with the reduced shipping fees (also 50% off), it’s a steal! I ended up getting 30 masks for $18 + $7.25 for DHL (fast shipping) for a total of $25.25. That’s still less than a dollar a mask. My order may even get to hitch a ride in grandma’s upcoming care package (thanks, mom!) if there’s room.

When I purchased these this morning, a few varieties were already sold out, but it looks like they’ve since restocked. I think these were worth making a small exception to my vow of not buying anymore skincare products – especially since it’s quickly cooling down and my skin is getting so dry! The 50% off sale is only for 3 days (Sept 7-9).

I realize that it’s really starting to look like I promote Innisfree – with all this talk about their products, I probably should be getting paid for it! But sadly, I’m just a new customer (with sensitive skin) in love with the quality of their products.
