Nightly routine

The main reason why I started this diary is to establish a skincare routine. As I experiment with different products, my nightly & daily routine will be at a constant flux. However, I have since discovered some of skincare staples.

I ran out of Hada Labo Gokujyun Lotion and although I love it, I’ve decided not to buy more because it contains parabens. I’m experimenting around it to see what works. However, I’m also running out of Innisfreee Perfect 9 Repair Cream. I’m undecided about buying more (plus, it’s out of stock at Innisfreeworld), so I might try out the Etude moisturizers in the meanwhile.

My current routine consists of:

  1. Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam
  2. Etude House Moistfull Collagen Facial Freshener (old version)
  3. Etude House Moistfull Collagen Emulsion (old version)
  4. Etude House Moistfull Collagen Cream (old version)
  5. Garnier Ultra Lift Night Serum + Cream – as a neck cream
  6. EOS Lip Balm, Sweet Mint

Update as of 27 Aug: I’ve continued to use Haba Labo Gokujyun and I’m really liking the results. It’s so mild and leaves my face soft and moisturized. I think it’ll be the perfect base for combining other products. I’ve been slowly adding to my routine (mainly testing for compatibility) and as of tonight, my new routine consists of:

  1. Hada Labo Gokujyun Foaming Wash
  2. Hada Labo Gokujyun Acid Lotion
  3. Innisfree Green Persimmon Pore Essence
  4. Hada Labo Gokujyun Acid Milk
  5. Innisfree Green Persimmon Pore Pack & Cream
  6. C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries Mentha Lip Balm Stick No. 1129 (No Shine Formula)

  1. Hada Labo Gokujyun Cleansing Oil
  2. Hada Labo Gokujyun Foaming Wash
  3. Hada Labo Gokujyun Acid Lotion
  4. Hada Labo Gokujyun Acid Milk
  5. C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries Mentha Lip Balm Stick No. 1129 (No Shine Formula)

2-0-star-rating Initial reaction: It’s a little slimy. It glides on like silicone. After a few minutes, my face got surprisingly plump! It was very obvious, however, my pores got pump along with it. It’s also kind of glossy looking. I’m not sure I can wear this during the day.

4-5-star-rating Next morning reaction: Wow. My face looks younger! I can visibly see the difference. I’m seriously about to order this stuff just so I don’t run out (I’m using a trial-size kit). But I’m still apprehensive about applying the milk for daytime wear. I read that I used way too much last night (after the fact) – I was only supposed to use 1 drop at a time, not a pea-sized squeeze. It’ll stick to it for today so I can have a better idea about what to reorder and if I should look into the Laneige Perfect Renew line (that I’ve been eyeing) instead.
